Being the 4th largest country in the world as well as an archipelago with 258 million o its population means that Indonesia has its rich culture that can actually be introduced to as many people as possible who are visiting Indonesia. Having so many variations of language as well as its culture, Indonesia is a strategic location to do researches and studies in that respective field. By studying in Indonesia and learning about its culture along the way, the experience obtained will really be authentic compared to theoretical studies only.

As an archipelago, studying Geography is surely going to be a good choice in Indonesia. The country is passed through by the equator that affects its climate. Many natural phenomena that happened in Indonesia are actually caused by certain conditions of the nature in Indonesia. Those occurrences may not be possible to happen in other countries. Among those things is certainly the solar eclipse back in March of 2016. Many people even come to Indonesia to witness and observe the solar eclipse that is not visible in their countries. In short, by studying in Indonesia there are so many sources and resources to support the studies and related researches.

Moreover, Indonesia is also a great choice of location to do business. Having a high number of population means that it is a promising target of business. In short it can be said that there are 5 cities known as the business center of Indonesia that consist of Medan, Jogjakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and also Jakarta. Doing business in one of those cities could really be promising in which education has its own essential role in making sure that the business itself can be a successful one. Surely the aspect of education is also having its rapid development there so that studying in those cities will be perfect especially if the study is related to the world of business.

Following everything else that Indonesia could possibly offer, there are 5 main reasons that study in Indonesia is a good choice.
Rich environment of nature with so many resources alongside various unique culture that can be related to many studies
There are quality universities that have been recognized internationally
Affordable living cost and tuition fee
Limitless tourism spots to visit as the ultimate solution for holiday
Indonesia is a safe country with the majority of people are so friendly towards tourists and visitors

Indonesia has its category when it comes to educational matter that includes formal education and informal education. Formal education is used to describe everything that happen in schools, universities, and other places to study that are legalized by the government to be th place to study. There are rules and systems within those places that the students should comply. Following the official language, Bahasa, the educational system of Indonesia is considered to be derived from some countries that colonized Indonesia back then in which Netherlands is the one with the huge part. Indonesia has its leveling in its educational system started from the Sekolah Dasar (Elementary School), Sekolah Menengah Pertama (Junior High), Sekolah Menengah Atas (Senior High), and then all types and kinds of higher education institution including universities, colleges, institutes, etc.

Following the formal education, there is also the so-called informal education in Indonesia. Basically this type of education is the one that is done by certain organisations or groups. Basically there will be a kind of test later on within this type of education in order to make sure that the graduates are within the same level as those graduates of formal education.

Climate
Indonesia has a tropical climate with only 2 seasons each year. The seasons are rainy and dry. This particular climate and seasons are affected by the actual location of Indonesia within the equator line. One word that is commonly used to describe Indonesia in term of its climate is hot. That is common for a country in a tropical area of equator though.

Living Cost
The living cost in Indonesia is totally affordable. The city of Jogjakarta is known to be the city of students with many students are studying there in high schools and universities in which the living cost there is totally cheap. In order to have a meal for lunch in Jogjakarta, it will only cost about IDR 15.000. Yet when it comes to the capital, Jakarta, that could go higher up to 2 times or even 3 times. Furthermore in term of the cost needed to have a holiday in Indonesia it will not be expensive as well. The fact that there are even spots to enjoy for free is one good thing about it. Moving into the place to live, there are so many choices to take with a wide range of prices as well. Renting a room in a kind of boarding house in Jogjakarta may just be spending about IDR 400.000 to IDR 1.000.000 for a month. Meanwhile in the capital it could cost from IDR 1.000.000 up to 3.000.000.

Language
The official language of Indonesia is Bahasa in which it is used nationwide. Yet the fact that there are many ethnics in Indonesia there are also many ethnic languages used along the way. One example is in Jogjakarta itself where the locals will mostly use Javanese instead of Bahasa unless they are communicating with visitors or tourists. The language itself is not that complicated compared to English in term of the grammar. In English there are different rules and terms used to express the past, the present, and the future while in Bahasa they are basically the same with just the addition of adverb of time.

Best Universities
According to the QS World University Rankings 2015/16 and also the Times Higher Education 2015/2016, these are the top universities in Indonesia:
Universitas Indonesia – Jakarta
Institut Teknologi Bandung – Bandung
Universitas Gadjah Mada – Jogjakarta
Universitas Airlangga – Surabaya
Institut Pertanian Bogor – Bogor
Universitas Diponegoro – Semarang
Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November – Surabaya
Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta – Solo
Universitas Brawijaya – Malang

Tuition Fee
Indonesia has its own system in term of the tuition fee in universities. There will be the so-called UKT (Uang Kuliah Tetap) and the fee for SKS (credits). In some cases there are also additional fund needed to be paid to the university as a kind of development fund. In term of the UKT there are 2 types of it, the flat one and the specific one. The flat one means that all students within a study program in the same year will have the same amount to pay. Meanwhile the specific one means that the amount to pay will be determined by the income of the students’ parents in a month. This so-called UKT varies a lot in the many universities of Indonesia but one thing for sure is that it will starts from IDR 1.000.000 and higher.

Following the UKT itself there is the fee for the SKS. This one is definitely affected by the selected study program referring to the accreditation and also followed by the year of the students. This amount should be pain according to the number of credits taken each semester by the students. This is the one that could really be expensive. It also varies a lot depending on the credits taken by the students but iw may starts from IDR 2.000.000. Thus it can be said that at least IDR 3.000.000 is needed for each semester to study in Indonesia. That is just the main tuition fee without adding the development fund for the university.
